Our Story.
The Station House at Monaghan Railway Station is now open!
The space will serve as a hub for up and coming entrepreneurs, freelancers and remote workers, with the provision of hot desks, flexi offices, meeting rooms, a board room and a limited number of permanent offices.
The pricing structure at The Station House will be such that start-ups and established small businesses will have equal opportunity to access the facilities since the overarching objective is to sustain Monaghan’s entrepreneurial reputation and connect the business community.
The Station House is being developed by Paul and Ann Bowe (ex BD Foods and Monaghan Physiotherapy Clinic respectively). They saw such potential in this old building and are always keen to give back to the community.
A Little History…
Designed by Sir John Benjamin MacNeill, an eminent Irish civil engineer of the 19th century, Monaghan Railway Station was a principal station building on the Belfast to Cavan rail line, forming part of the Great Northern Railway network. The building was completed in 1858 and functioned as an important transport hub up until its closure in 1969. In the subsequent years the building became home to a variety of businesses, however the building eventually fell into dereliction and was vacated in 2016.
